Took this a couple of weeks ago with my little trusty compact, and sent it to mum (lotus flowers rank among her top favourite flora) and she then said something along the lines of "wow,you can take such a nice picture... surprisingly.. did you take lessons?"... Gee, thanks mum. I still can't work out whether its a compliment or not... but thats parents for you.
So the story about this is that apparently this year, the lotus flowers don't seem to be blooming as much as they should in the lovely city of Hangzhou, prompting panic amongst the authorities. The solution? Planted more lotus in the pond, oops i mean the West Lake. Because we can't have non-flowering lotus plants sullying the view for tourists in the top travel destination of China, can we? ;-)
